I finally have some time to checkout your website.
I was referred by Vennie Tuquero, my sister-in-law. I consider her as my sister because I don’t have one, she’s a wonderful person, and a friend!
Anyways, to make a long story short. Mahalo, for accepting the position of sending our baby brother off with a wonderful ocean ceremony!
Joseph Kaheawalu Samuel Kamano was born on July 9, 1973 in Honolulu, Hawaii to the proud parents- Edmund Unea Kamano & Marilyn Leilani Kamano whose in heaven with him.
Our Ohana knew him as “Braddah Joe” but his friends called him, “MANO”!!
Joe left us on February 6, 2009.(Kailua-Kona, Hawaii). We have 4 in the family, Edmund Kamano, Alfred Kamano, Primrose Naukana Rego, and Joseph Kamano. Joseph left alot of cousins, neices, and nephews who truly loved him with all of their heart and soul. He is missed everyday of our lives but we know that he is with our heavenly father and all the ohana that left before us.
His girlfriend, Dora Nihoa, her Ohana and alot of friends on the Big Island took in braddah Joe as one of their own. I am truly greatful to Aunty-Mom Hannah Wilson, Dora, and Braddah Boy for the love and affection they have given to braddah joe and our ohana when we went up to the big island to take care of his cremation process!
My thoughts of the ceremony will be held at Fort Derussy, we call, “Uncle Barry’s Beach” @ noon on
July 9th, 2009 underneath the wonderful pavillion where my uncle Barry hangs out. We are planning to borrow canoes from my uncles friend to take braddah Joe’s ashes out to sea.
So, the send off by you would be on the seashore of Fort Derussy, then we launch the canoes with whoever can fit or whoever would like to go out to sea.
I’m not sure if you ever did this before, but I would appreciate a prayer of love and aloha!!!!
Our Ohana usually sing songs of love and aloha to send our loved one home!!! Lunch will be provided, pelehu style soon after we come back from the departure of his ashes. I am planning on coming to Oahu on July 7, 2009 (tue.) Maybe we can meet when I get in. I will give you a call tomorrow or if you have time you can reach me on my cell @ 808-639-1269. Mahalo Nui Loa for your time and understanding.
